Piedmont lies at the „foot of the mountains“, just as the name says. One can see them clearly when the prevailing mist evaporates: an incredible half-moon of snow peaked Alps and the Apennines.Our house is located near Monforte d’Alba, one of the most famous municipalities in the Langhe, an area where the world famous Barolo wine has been made for 150 years. Lange has traditionally been a must-see for every visitor to the Piedmont. With its unique topography and the ability of its inhabitants to elevate eating and drinking to a high art, it guarantees a very special experience.For years it had been our wish to give our lives a completely new direction. In 2002 we lost our hearts to this beautiful 150 year old farmhouse in Piedmont. It then took 3 years until we were finally able to buy it. Although there was no heating and lacked conveniences, we used it as our holiday home and as a special place to relax. We spent much time researching different possibilities for renovation that would conserve the original charm.
